Vacuum Degasser Maintenance and Installation

A degasatore sottovuoto is installed in a mud solids control system to prevent the release of gases from the drilling fluid during drilling operations, which could affect mud performance and pose safety risks. To ensure optimal performance and efficiency, the vacuum degasser must be installed as described below, with adequate space for operators and maintenance personnel to connect various accessories.

Typical vacuum degasser operation and maintenance procedures include the following:

1. Opening the inspection panel

2. Removing, replacing, and adjusting the vacuum pump drive belt

3. Connecting and disconnecting the suction and discharge lines

4. Inspecting the electrical junction box

5. Inspecting the vacuum pump air line and oil reservoir, ensuring horizontal installation

The sequence of vacuum degasser installation procedures may vary depending on the user’s resources, experience, and available equipment.

1. Install the degasser downstream of the scuotitore di scisto or upstream of any secondary apparecchiature per il controllo dei solidi, such as desanders, desilters, cleaners, and centrifuges.

2. Ensure the equipment is securely and horizontally installed.

3. Place the deaerator suction line in the first compartment downstream of the sand separator. Install the 8-inch suction line at least 3 feet below the normal operating mud level in the mud tank. Install the suction line 6 inches above the bottom of the mud tank, keeping the suction line as short as possible during operation.

4. Install the ejector in the next compartment immediately downstream of the sand separator, with a maximum length of 25 feet from the deaerator outlet to the ejector inlet. Install an 8-inch discharge line horizontally or at a slight angle.

5. Install the ejector outlet line at least 1 foot below the normal operating mud level in the serbatoio del fango.

6. Feed the ejector with a centrifugal pump, providing 75 feet of head pressure at the ejector inlet. Install the centrifugal pump suction line recommended by the centrifugal pump manufacturer. Connect a 6-inch feed line no longer than 20 feet to the ejector nozzle, keeping the bends in the line minimal.

7. Connect a 1.5-inch discharge line from the vacuum pump outlet manifold to a safe area.

8. Connect the device to the power supply.
