HL Petroleum recently delivered 100 offshore drill cuttings box to a Spanish customer. These boxes, which have an effective volume of 2.5 m³, will be used on offshore drilling platforms to collect drilling waste.
Offshore drilling platforms use drill cuttings boxes, also known as cuttings boxes, in conjunction with cuttings recovery equipment for the recovery, storage, and transportation of drilling waste. Drilling crews collect and store the drill cuttings and other waste they generate during drilling operations in these boxes, which they then transport to a centralized processing site using cranes or forklifts. These boxes are safe, convenient, cost-effective, and highly efficient, minimizing the risk of leaks and allowing for stacking. HL Petroleum can customize and manufacture various specifications of drill cuttings boxes with effective capacities ranging from 2 to 4 m³. Offshore drilling cuttings boxes come with relevant certifications and weld inspection reports.
Product Details
The offshore drill cuttings box delivered this time has an effective volume of 2.5m³ and features a large inlet and outlet, along with an angled design, making it easier and safer to collect and dump cuttings. The top cover is sealed with high-quality rubber to effectively prevent cuttings from spilling. The stackable design allows for increased capacity without increasing floor space. The box also features lifting and drain holes to ensure safe and quick equipment transportation. It also allows for thorough drainage of the box contents, facilitating easy flushing and cleaning.
Drilling crews primarily use drill cuttings boxes during offshore drilling operations to transport waste drilling fluid and cuttings to shore. Due to the limited crane capacity of early drilling rigs, drill cuttings boxes were a simpler method for collection and transportation. Crews typically place these boxes near solids control equipment, allowing for shorter travel times and easier loading. When a box is full, they remove it and replace it with an empty one. Once they reach the required number of boxes, a workboat transports them back to shore. Upon return, the workboat returns the empty boxes to the dock.
