Functions and Usage Precautions of a Drilling Mud Gun
A drilling mud gun, also known as a drilling fluid gun, primarily performs high-pressure jet mixing within the mud tank. It effectively flushes and agitates corners in the mud tank that are difficult for the mud mixer to reach, ensuring thorough mixing of the mud within the tank and maintaining a uniform suspension of solid particles in the drilling fluid. This facilitates effective grading and separation in subsequent mud purification equipment and prevents solids from settling in mud tank corners and pump intakes. Mud guns can also be used to transfer mud between different mud tanks.
Drilling mud guns primarily divide into high-pressure and low-pressure types, and operators typically mount them on the top of the mud tank. High-pressure mud guns have a smaller displacement and higher pressure, and a drilling pump generally supplies them. Low-pressure mud guns, on the other hand, a mud pump typically supplies, and feature a larger displacement and lower pressure.

According to the changes in mud density, operators adjust the gate valve opening in time to ensure the operation effect of the mud gun.
